About the role

As a Safety Supervisor, you are responsible to maintain compliance standards by monitoring work activities and safe practices at QDFC work premises including landside and airside facilities. You will ensure to implement safety standards and conduct frequent audits and inspections to identify and cascade potential hazard to relevant departments for corrective action. You will observe, record and analyze day to day safety practice and incident trend and present data to line manager and ensure QDFC business has safe and healthy working environment and in line with local legislation, QR and HIA standards, basic knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 22000.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct daily visit across QDFC premises as per set plan to evaluate any non-compliance or area for improvement.
• Report, record all OHS & Fire hazards and follow up for the corrective action in a timely manner.
• Respond to emergency situations as per HIA and QR protocol.
• Prepare daily handover reports including all shift activities and incident data.
• Ensure to investigate and complete relevant reports and submit for review prior to closing the case in QR AQD online tool.
• Contribute towards promoting and enhancing safety culture by giving awareness sessions to employees as per the set plan and/or as and when needed.
• Support all QDFC divisions and business partners, both internal and external for all safety related challenges, including food & beverages, warehouse operations and company accommodations.

Qualifications

About you

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

• High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 3 years of job-related experience; or
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 2 years of job-related experience
• Attended trainings on first aid and fire safety applications
• Worked in a supervisory role in a non-construction organization
• NEBOSH IGC or similar safety qualification

Skills:

• Ability to read, understand and interpret regulations, laws and operating procedures.
• Ability to coordinate emergency situations and to respond appropriately.
• A good understanding of the principles of supervision.
• Good computer literacy, administration and office skills.
• Ability to communicate proficiently in English both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to courteously and tactfully communicate and relate with superiors, peers and other employees.
• Working within a team, the individual will need to work to timelines.
• Shift work and irregular hours as per operational requirement may be required.
• A flexible and positive attitude
