Job Description

Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum of  10 years post graduate experience with experience in major infrastructure projects or programmes; preference will be given to roads, aviation, structures or rail related experience
  • Experience with the planning implementation of temporary and permanent road works to recognised international standards
  • Detailed  knowledge  of  traffic  control  devices  such  as  temporary safety barriers, speed control/speed management measures, traffic signage, road furniture, road markings, pedestrian and cycle crossing measures, as well as infrastructure requirements for traffic signals and roundabouts
  • Knowledge of wide ranging road safety issues relating complex layouts such as     road   tunnels/underpasses/elevated   road   sections/grade  separated interchanges and large traffic signal junctions
  • Experienced user of MS Office
  • Experience of working in Qatar or the Gulf region is desirable
  • Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multidisciplinary projects
  • In-depth knowledge of project controls procedures.
  • Technically proficient in all aspects of Health & Safety
  • Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures, both internally and with various project stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise, guide and support managers in the implementation of Health & Safety practices both on site and within the office environment; working closely with stakeholders to ensure that Health & Safety procedures and policies are being applied on a Programme and Project level
  • Undertake the role of lead contact to senior management for advice and recommendations regarding Safety related issues
  • Provide technical support and advice to the Head of Engineering Support, and act independently as may be required under certain circumstances
  • Work proactively with the Design/Supervising Consultants to resolve any problems related to Safety
  • Coordinate   with   the   Design   Department   to   develop   and  implement improvements to the methods concerning Road Safety Audit to obtain the highest engineering value whenever possible
  • Act as an internal facilitator within the department to identify concerns, areas for improvement, and then act to streamline processes
  • Continually seek and capture lessons learned from the process and use this intelligence to improve systems and tools
  • Liaise effectively with the Design/Supervising Consult

Profile

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Science or equivalent (Nebosh Dip. Level 6)
  • 10 Years experiences in the same field & same position
  • OHS Qualification certified by Nebosh (IGC/NGC)
  • OHS Qualification certified by IOSH (Managing Safely & Working Safely)
  • Safety Management Qualification certified in ISO 45001 as Lead Auditor

Desirable requirements

  • Evidence of suitable professional qualification or equivalent is preferable
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Arabic language skills
  • Experience of working in Qatar and / or the Gulf region
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken

Position description
Job title:Business Development Engineer M/F

Explore, identify and seek new opportunities with existing and potential clients.
develop negotiation strategies, and support the management in all aspects of business development
prepare and present commercial and technical recommendations to the client and management
To update the management on the new market trends.
Preparation, update and follow-up of commercial action plans and BD meetings
Upstream and on-the-ground business intelligence, identification of prospects, public and private clients and investors, etc

General Description :

Responsible for managing all Project Affairs and PPP Committee commercial activities (procurement, cost, budgets, contracts, claims, managing agreements with key partners); and

Ensure achievement of and compliance of commercial targets.

Skills and Competencies :

– Minimum of 20 years post graduate experience with experience in major infrastructure projects or programmes and minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role; preference will be given to highways, roads, aviation, structures or rail related experience

– Management of key customer and stakeholder relationship;

Main Responsibilities :

– Ensure and review contract management and administration compliance

– Ensure and review Programme and Project related financial management

– Initiate and conduct meetings as required with Supply Chain in relation to

–  Manage the delivery, when required, of variations, addendums, extensions of time, claims etc. ensuring that they are being proceeding accordance with the Authority’s relevant policies and procedures;

– Familiar  with  financial  information  and  is  aware  of  financial  impacts  on     bids/contracts/projects;

– Provide  support  to  the  Project  Affairs  Departments  where  required,  on commercial matters; and

–  Escalate issues within the Authority as and when required.

Profile

Qualifications & Criteria :

Mandatory requirements : 

– University degree from a recognized university in an appropriate field such as Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or equivalent;

Responsible for maintaining up-to-date project data, aligned with PMWeb modules. PMWeb Consultant must work closely with all the members of project management team for creation and maintenance of up-to-date project data.

Generally handles more than one project at a time.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in engineering  and Project Control Systems
  • 5 years’ experience in implementation Project Control Software
  • Very good experience  in using Primavera P6/ MS Project and any other software for PCS
  • Experience on PMWeb Development
  •  Having excellent understanding of construction project management Skills:

Have excellent planning, decision making, problem solving and organizational skills. Must have thorough knowledge of industry I international standards, and ability to interpret for specific application within sphere of relevant disciplines.  Independence:

Profile

  • Provision of specialist assistance to Project Team in creating and maintaining up­ to-date project data, aligned with the PMWeb modules, to accurately reflect the monthly progress, KPI’s and time-to-completion of all projects.
  •  Continuous  review  of  active  projects  in  the  PMWeb  database  to  ensure  a consistent, normalized approach by Project Team across the whole organization (e.g. creation of baselines and computation  of schedule performance indices at various  levels in the projects portfolio  ,budget  ,cost  estimate  ,cost  plans  and reports, risk register ,issues register…etc.).
  •  Provision of specialist assistance to the project team in maintaining  up-to-date
  • Risk Registers, Issues Registers in all HFD departments.
  •  Oversee risk simulation exercises  by Project Team (e.g. Monte Carlo analysis) and participate in the review and follow-up of the simulation outcomes.
  •  Pmvision of specialist advice to the Project Team in the review, comment  and approval of risk mitigation plans submitted  by Consultants and Contractors,  and by In-House teams.
  • Deliver induction training sessions to new HFD staff and make records of all such training for retention in the Project Support Office.
  • Participation  in audit  exercises  and  Stage  Gate  Reviews  carried  out  by  the Project Support Office.
  • Interrogation  of  PMVVeb to  produce   reports  on  specific  KPI’s  for  the  top executives.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as directed.
