Cargo Commercial/ Sales team as a Cargo Sales Manager in our office in Spain.

Join the #MovedByPeople family and leave a mark as part of Cargo Commercial/Sales.

The role holder will be responsible for managing the Direct Cargo Sales and Marketing activities of Qatar Airways Cargo in the assigned Station/Area and ensure sales targets are achieved through managing Commercial team, maximizing the return from existing market(s), whilst identifying and penetrating new markets where appropriate. In this role you will also represent Qatar Airways Cargo in local sales-related cargo community events.

Some of the tasks include:

  • Structure and implement business and marketing plan to optimize QR revenue and presence in assigned territory, while managing and expanding the business.
  • Negotiate short-, medium- and long-term pricing initiatives to mutual benefit which are consistent with the station’s revenue goals and pricing guidelines.
  • Assess station/regional market conditions, based on Key Market Data (i.e. CASS, WorldACD, Local Airport) to identify trends, new or prospects, OAL activities and possible threats, with appropriate recommendation and response.
  • Introduce QR Cargo products and support their development in the assigned station/region and maintain sales and high standards of service to customers by, among others, ensuring all queries are answered with effective solutions on time.
  • Evaluate Qatar Airways’ market share, traffic movements to and from the station and other airline practices. Identify areas of concern and instigate remedial action.
  • Ensure QRs participation in sales campaigns and public events, collecting sales leads for circulation to concerned departments and stations in order to maximize QR market share and station/region contribution.

Qualifications

About you

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant College or University qualifications with a minimum of 5 years job-related experience.
  • Experience in Airfreight Sales Management is highly desirable.
  • Experience in sales and strategic planning with ability to build relationships and influence.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to identify market and industry trends.
  • Complete product knowledge and the market practices of the areas under jurisdiction.
  • Knowledge of IATA / TACT Regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and strong command of English language – written and verbal.
  • Managerial skills – Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
