The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
- A Senior Account Manager has up to 10 Large Corporate customers. You will be sharing your deep expertise of optimizing complex software solutions in this industry with customers.
- Successful Account Managers maximise their time with customers, engaging in their business and exploring ways in which VMware can deliver solutions. You will set a regular cadence for engagement with the range of stakeholders, including quarterly reviews and executive briefings. You will cover a breadth of stakeholders from department managers up to the c-suite executives.
- Your individual customer account plans will establish a foundation of intelligence and insight for both short-term tactical sales opportunities as well as long-term strategic success. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an overall consultative approach will set you apart from competitors.
- You will seek to build deep understanding of the customer landscape through great discovery activities and in building robust roadmaps for sustainable customer partnerships. The VMware way of selling incorporates a number of technical, financial and value-based tools that all account managers are expected to master and leverage to the full.
- Internally, you will work with specialists from across each of our technology areas to identify and develop value-based solutions for your customers. The Client Solution Executive (CSE) plays a key role in CXS: leading the development and sales of end-to-end CXS services plans that drive success for our customers. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
As a Client Solution Executive (CSE) your primary focus is aimed at developing and closing larger consulting and customer success services business while maintaining customer relations with our most strategic accounts. Collaborating with the entire stakeholder ecosystem to identify, develop, accelerate, up-sell and close business.
The CSE role requires you to be at the forefront of customer engagement, to understand their business challenges and how our technology and services can help them realize value and achieve success.
- In first 30 to 60 days we expect the CSE to be able to establish good relationship with internal core teams and the wider CXS team
- Understand and learn VMware’s proposition, solutions and the CXS services portfolio
- Understand and learn how we can develop, define and scope our services plans and proposals including our systems and processes to support these
- Reaching out to customers to understand active opportunities and engagements where VMware CXS is or will be involved
- Learn from you peers and develop for your own territory a focus plan to achieve service bookings and service execution targets
- Qualify and update current pipeline for your territory, manage your forecast, also start working to create new opportunities
The CSE is completing all tasks with little guidance – no limitation on what they can drive. Focusing on transformational services opportunities while navigating internal processes can be quite challenging. This is a key area to get up to speed. We need strong analytical skills and creativity but also good administrative skills and accuracy. Ability to manage and orchestrate internal stakeholders within a matrix org. Having wide view for larger transformational projects.

- Getting in front of account managers and sales leaders, making your presence known internally at VMware and showing the value we bring with us.
- Arranging and managing customer meetings and utilizing agreed sales methodologies
- Be capable of developing and writing effective services sales proposals. Our proposals include the business requirements, technical requirements, desired outcomes and an appropriate solution design which translates in a Statement of Work (SoW) and other CXS services. You will be responsible for closing CXS deals that could span from 1-week consulting engagements to complex, multi-services $1M+ engagements. As CSE you will work closely with solution consultants when scoping and creating business proposals.
- Applying our outcome-focused methodology for defining, implementing and adopting long-term solutions will help you achieve real business value for our customers. The CXS broad expertise and deep knowledge of VMware technology can help reduce risk and complexity. Our holistic approach addressing infrastructure, applications, and operating model helps minimize disruption and ensure predictable outcomes.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
The EMEA SASE Sales Lead owns the responsibility for the pipeline growth, sales execution strategy and management of the VMware SASE and SD-WAN solutions into the enterprise, commercial sectors and partner community. You will be responsible along for building a strong sustainable SaaS business, achieving ACV bookings targets, building pipeline, managing the sales forecasting process, and building a brand around our solutions within your territory. You will need to oversee and work closely with VMware’s Field and Partner organizations to achieve success and manage interactions with our existing customers. Knowledge of the cloud networking, SD-WAN and SASE is desired however it essential that you must have a track record of success experience in building and driving a sales business.

Accountable for achieving SaaS ACV bookings targets for VMware SD-WAN and SASE solutions
You will generally split time 50/50 between creating and building individual pipeline as well as supporting the other sales organizations (Enterprise, Commercial and Network and Security) to grow their SASE business
Participate in a weekly forecasting process to provide visibility to VMware’s leadership of sales pipeline growth and ability to achieve ACV bookings targets, as well as upside and downside risks to achieving target bookings
Identify high propensity customers and lead sales engagements
Collaborate and build positive relationships with core, specialist and partner sales and SE leaders and sales teams to ensure comprehensive engagement to maximize the addressable market opportunity across our business and with our customers
Demonstrate success in delivering within high growth, acquisition, challenger sales organizations
Consultative sales experience especially around the adoption of cloud services in the infrastructure space
As an EMEA role, as restrictions are lifted, travel across the region is expected (approx. 50%)
