Job Description

  • Serve as a member of the office management team providing direction and technical advice to identify and prioritize potential markets and customers.
  • Direct the preparation and implementation of business development action plans for targeted markets. Approve and monitor execution of action plans prepared by subordinate marketing personnel.
  • Provide overall direction to department personnel including staffing, training, reviewing performance, and recommending promotions.
  • Through subordinate managers, direct and supervise the development of major proposals, presentations and brochure materials. Train and assist project personnel committed in proposals to make effective presentations.
  • Participate as an active member of the proposal and estimate review team. Provide direction and actively participate in closing the “sale.” May assist in final contract negotiations with the client.
  • Provide input to the management team on new product or service features to be developed to meet current and future customer needs.
  • Call and visit target customers to promote and sell establishment products and services.
  • Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluation options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners’ needs and goals.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience.
Experience
Ten years or more of related work experience required. Construction Industry or Built Environment experience preferred
