About the role

We are recruiting for Driver/Messenger to be based in Doha, Qatar.

In this role, you will carry out stock deliveries to customers at various places in Qatar & other QDC locations in a safe & courteous manner. You’re required to transport visitors and QDC managers during supplier market visits when needed. You will also be meeting required timetables and ensure that vehicles are maintained to acceptable standards. You will undertake all staff transportation between warehouses, operate powered pallet trucks in the warehouses as and when needed

Specific responsibilities of the role include:

• Stock deliveries to various customer places & other QDC locations in Qatar and ensuring a prompt and efficient service in accordance with policies and procedures including completion of any necessary paperwork
• Ensures mail runs, collection/distribution of documents and materials, bill payments, inter office runs, duties related to banks, government departments and other external clients.
• Ensure on time pick up/ delivery.
• Assists warehouse team in transporting staff between warehouses and head a small team in container unload, drive powered pallet trucks to move stocks in the warehouse.
• Assists in general officer work – filing, photocopying and preparing press packs. Provides efficient support to the office staff extending effective interdepartmental communication ensuring smooth functioning.
• Maintains vehicle in good condition to acceptable standards so delivery timetables are met.
• Maintains daily running charts accurately to have reliable records of mileage done by vehicle. Checks vehicle regularly to minimize breakdowns and delays.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Completed High School level. Primary level education desirable with proficiency in written English.
• Must possess valid Qatari Driver’s License and a knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.
• Must have 2 years driving experience, preferably in a multinational/airline/hospitality organization.
• Experiences in interacting with Banks Airline Offices, Government Departments will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of Qatar and customers location.
• Good driving skills and aware of traffic regulation.
