We are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Human Resources team in the UK as HR Officer – UK and Ireland.

As the HR Officer – UK and Ireland based in our Central London office, you will provide support to line managers across the UK and Ireland in the areas of employee relations, performance management and talent management.

This represents a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced environment in a leading Aviation group to contribute to our continued development and evolution.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Key contact for managers and employees across all people matters.
  • Provide a range of HR services to support the end to end employee experience in all departments including Commercial, Ground Services, Technical and Cargo.
  • Support, develop, and coach managers through employee relations issues; including performance management, absence, grievance and disciplinary procedures as well as the entire employee lifecycle
  • Case management of employee relations issues through to conclusion
  • Provide advice to managers on the implementation of HR policies and processes to support them in making decisions that are fair and ensuring consistency across the company
  • Collaborate with HR centres of excellence in Head Office to implement company-wide HR initiatives across the UK and Ireland
  • Supporting regular HR project work
  • Supervise and oversee all matters related to the administration of employment records and related documents (including terms of employment, contract renewals, end of employment reports, termination checklists, employee records and files) and ensure compliance to local labour requirements and Qatar Airways standards and policies
  • Collaborate with local finance team in managing monthly payroll reporting
  • Key and trusted member of UK & Ireland HR team adding value to the UK & Ireland region.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant College or University qualification ideally within Human Resources or a relevant field.
  • HR Generalist experience within a fast paced, multi-site, and ever-changing environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment law.
  • Experience in employee relations and case management
  • Fluency in English is essential for this role.

You must have the right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this role. The role will involve travel to our sites across the UK and Ireland.

As the HR Officer based in our Regional Office in Tokyo, Japan, you will add immediate value by providing support to line managers across the Japan and Korean markets in the areas of employee relations, remuneration and benefits, leadership development, performance management, and talent management.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide a range of HR services to support the end to end employee experience in all departments including Commercial, Ground Services, Global Business Services and Cargo.
  • Support, develop, and coach managers through employee relations issues; including performance management, absence, grievance and disciplinary procedures.
  • Case management of employee relations issues through to conclusion.
  • Develop HR planning strategies with line manager which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements in term of numbers and skill levels, as well as development needs.
  • Provide advice to managers on the implementation of HR policies and processes to support them in making decisions that are fair and ensuring consistency across the company.
  • Collaborate with HR centers of excellence in Head Office to implement company-wide HR initiatives across the Japan and Korea markets.
  • Supporting regular HR project work.
  • Supervise and oversee all matters related to the administration of employment records and related documents (including terms of employment, contract renewals, probation reports, end of employment reports, termination checklists, employee records and files) and ensure compliance to local labor requirements and Qatar Airways standards and policies.
  • Coordinate the orientation of new employees and probationary reviews.
  • Collaborate with local Global Business Services  team in managing payroll and related reporting.
  • Prepare HR reports and analytics as required by Regional HR Management.

Qualifications

Qualifications – External

  • Bachelor degree within Human Resources or a relevant field.
  • Minimum four years Generalist HR experience within a fast paced, multi-site, and ever changing environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment law and other government compliance regulations e.g. health and safety.
  • Experience in employee relations, organizational change and case management
  • Fluency in English, and Japanese both written and spoken is essential for this role, and fluency in Korean is preferable.
  • The role will involve regular travel to our sites within Japan and Korean

About the role

We are hiring for your skills to be responsible for providing support to various departments, assist line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures in a range of Human Resources functions which include but not limited to recruitment, employee welfare and disciplinary procedures. Operate as the primary point of contact to the Business Support department, ensuring information flow and sharing of knowledge. Provide professional human resources administration and project assistance to the HR Business Support Specialist/ Human Resources Business Partner

Other operational duties would include:

Assist in investigating and conducting disciplinary cases, prepare case reports/ case briefs and follow up with regards to agreed/ decided actions.
Assist line management / HR with relevant findings / documentation for use in disciplinary processes.
Ensure that each investigation is concluded within the prescribed and acceptable time limit.
Maintain tracker and validate the end-to-end process.
Prepare and maintain monthly and yearly HR & Management Reports, gather key information and statistical reports to keep the business informed, and assist with composing correspondence and memorandum, reports and documents.
Participate in key HR related projects (i.e. Communication Plan, Leave Plan, HR Strategy, etc.) and conduct research on best practice in Human Resources and make appropriate recommendations.

Qualifications
About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the HR – QAS Team.

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 3 years of job-related experience
Experience in multi-national organization preferably in Airline/ Travel/ Hotel industry.
Relevant experience in handling employee grievance.
Excellent communication and report writing skills
