Our newest opportunity is for a talented Project Planner (Hospitality projects) to join our award-winning team based in Doha, Qatar. This position is responsible for ensuring the development of the master schedule for a complex/high value project or bid pack and specific detailed schedules to include timetable, costs and progress of construction.

Responsibilities

Paramount to success within this varied role will include:

  • Planning, costing and scheduling metrics and tools (work breakdown structure), collecting performance data (installed quantities, expended labour hours, and other progress measurements for direct hire and subcontract labour), tracking data (daily cost compilation and monitoring), analyzing and reporting (earned value, productivity and risk analysis).
  • Developing project master schedule, updating, monitoring and reviewing contractor construction schedules, submittals, material delivery, procurement logs and daily follow-up in addition to the necessary productivity measurement studies and associated corrective measures.
  • Implementing ‘Work Order’ procedures in conjunction with QA/QC staff.
  • Identifying and tracking changes, actual and potential, to the project scope, ensuring estimates of cost changes and schedule impact are given visibility with the client and project management.
  • Participating in contract administration.
  • Reviewing and approving contractor’s work programs submissions.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will bring a minimum of 10 years’ career experience with  a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

Project experience gained from working on iconic buildings and bridges will be of particular interest. It will be highly regarded if you have strong experience in VIP Building projects (such as luxury hotels).

Our opportunity is for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join our award-winning team based in Doha, Qatar. This position is responsible for implementing cost and financial control procedures for Pre-Contract and Tender stages.

Responsibilities:

We envisage success in this role to include:
  • Implementing commercial/contractual matters within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintaining proper and complete communication on all project related issues.
  • Preparing preliminary estimate for the client, allowing the client to frame financial needs.
  • Tendering and supporting contractual arrangements, considering client’s priorities and information available from designers.
  • Preparing tender and contract documents in coordination with the clients and members of the design team.
  • Attending pre-contract interview with tenderers, short-listing and further advising.
  • Ensuring the terms of the contract are followed and managing supplemental agreements.
  • Assessing and reporting upon variations to the construction works and claims for changes..
  • Identifying performance issues that need to be brought to the attention of the Commercial Manager.
  • Analyzing project(s) variations and changes, prepare project reports, analyze information for adjustments to project budget as necessary to assure a successful project(s).
  • Analyzing and interpreting contract conditions.
  • Understanding, identifying and assessing project risks.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10 years work experience with at least 3 years of experience working on major infrastructure related projects (Design-bid-build environment), partnered with a Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering and Qatar Engineering License (MME/UPDA).
Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors will be viewed favorably along with work experience gained within a consultancy firm working on major road and highway projects.

Chartered member of a professional institution and working towards professional accreditation of either IEng, CEng or P.E is an advantage.

This critical role will be responsible in representing the Firm in its dealings with relevant parties, from pre to post contract award throughout the entire course of the construction activities for medium to large-sized projects.

Responsibilities

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Preparing  and presenting Pre-Contract Cost Plans and Pre-Tender Estimates.
  • Attending project meetings and represent C-Quest.
  • Maintaining communication with the contractor and client’s site representatives on all project related issues.
  • Ensuring the terms of the contract are followed and manages supplemental agreements.
  • Managing projects with reach back support and being the commercial point of contact on a project and be experienced in presenting to the client, design team or any other relevant stakeholders.
  • Implementing cost controls and financial control procedures as outlined in the construction contracts.
  • Assessing and reporting upon client’s variations to the construction works and claims for changes from the contractors.
  • Identifying performance issues that need to be brought to the attention of the commercial manager.
  • Administering contractual procedures to ensure compliance by relevant parties.
  • Reviewing, negotiating settlements of client’s variations and contractor’s claims for changes.
  • Preparing progress valuations in respect of interim monthly and final payments to contractors.
  • Assessing, measuring, advising, and recommending on cost impact of design changes.
  • Assisting in the reviews, assessments and reports upon contractor’s claims including review of time extensions, delays, and penalties.
  • Prepares Change/Variation Orders and reports upon cost impacts of such orders on the construction budget.
  • Preparing draft contractual correspondence and certificates for issue to the client and contractor.
  • Preparing project cost and cash flow reports.
  • Participating in cost and contractual review meetings.
  • Providing input to consolidated Monthly Report submitted to the client.
  • Providing general commercial/contractual support to the project teams.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envisage that you will bring a minimum of 14 years’ experience from a similar role within a consultancy, partnered with a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering.
