Job Description

Regional Sales Manager 222600  

As Regional Sales Manager, the incumbent reports to the National Sales Manager, and leads a team of Medical Representatives.  The job holder is responsible to achieve sales targets and growth in Qatar, Oman and Bahrain.  The job holder is accountable for the implementation of sales and marketing strategies whilst adhering to Boehringer Ingelheim’s Ethics, Compliance policies & standard operational procedures.

The job holder will be based in Doha, Qatar.

Responsibilities:

Sales Planning and Management

  • Lead and develop effective sales action plans to successfully achieve and exceed objectives.
  • Map the customers and maintain updated customer segmentation.
  • Develop and implement Business/Customer/Account plans for achieving sales goals in line
    with the country business objectives.
  • Gather insights, capture opportunities and ensure sustainable growth in performance.
  • Monitor BI products accessibility to territorial responsibility and timely execution of enlisting plans
  • Report business performance, market intelligence, brand plan execution, distribution efficiency and target sectors.
  • Proactively manage opportunities / potential risks in order to minimize downsides and
    maximize upsides variances from the revenue targets.

Stakeholder Management – Internal and External

  • Optimize customer engagement and brand positioning in alignment with cross-functional teams
  • Build & maintain professional sound relationship with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and Institutions to ensure better understanding, brand positioning and overall enhancement of customer’s satisfaction.

People management

  • Lead and direct support team members in performance and development
  • Lead and direct all selling activities to achieve/exceed sales objectives for the assigned
    product portfolio
  • Achieve the optimum size, structure and geographical deployment of the sales force to
    accomplish sales objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Medicine or any other relevant field

  • Previous people management experience is a must
  • Excellent command of English, both oral and written communication
  • Qatar visa requirements will be taken into account prior to scheduling interviews and only eligible candidates will be considered

Job Description

Medical Representative

To effectively represent and promote Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) core products to existing and potential customers, by persuading them that BI products best supports their needs and that of their patients, with the objective of maximizing sales revenue and increasing market share whilst adhering to best practice principles and BI’s standard operational procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities:
Sales execution

  • Works closely with Regional Sales Manager in executing an effective Sales Action Plan with the objective of maximizing BI business in the assigned district to ensure achievement of district sales targets and objectives
  • Plans and schedules daily visits with existing and potential customers to deliver BI’s assigned core product message
  • Records and tracks product sales and customers in his/her region
  • Obtains and records feedback from existing customers on competitors’ product performance and monitors their activity

Marketing

  • Collaborates with Product Managers in delivering the product message
  • Keeps up-to-date with the latest clinical data supplied by the company and presents and discusses this data with health care professionals during daily visits and/or group presentations
  • Coordinates with the Marketing Department in planning, organizing and conducting regular Audio Visual (AV) meetings, CME meetings, round table discussions, and business dinners with health professionals
  • Collaborates with the Marketing department on IMS data
  • Requests sponsorship for local meetings conducted by Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) as well as other health care professionals in important local and international meetings

Stakeholder management

  • Develops and maintains relations with sales agents to ensure they assist in promoting and pushing BI products
  • Coordinates with agents in building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with different customers in his/her region including doctors, pharmacists, purchasers within hospitals/institutions, etc.
  • Maintains relations with Finance and Research & Development in providing tools necessary to achieve sales targets

Reporting

  • Prepares daily reports on visiting schedules and weekly sales sheet for Management review
  • Provides monthly forecasting sheet based on actual Sales
  • Prepares and provides ad hoc reports as requested by senior management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Dental or Medicine
  • A minimum of 2 – 3 years relevant work experience in a multinational pharmaceutical company for prescription medicine
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in Cardio-Vascular and / or Diabetic medication is a must
  • Fluency in Arabic and English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
