About the role

The Space Planning Specialist will maximise revenue by combining product and space in a visually appealing and shopable display. You will work independently and as part of a team responsible for timely and accurate creation and release of product assortment category planograms, communicate effectively with stakeholders, report on data driven out by these planograms to help deliver the best possible product offer for the customer.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Create planograms by using in-house systems and softwares to maximise revenue by utilising available shelf and display space; review and adapt planograms on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Capture images and take accurate measurements of products and fixtures to ensure maximise utilisation of space in order to maximise the the profit per square meter.
• Identify opportunities to maximise sales and profitability by plan, by looking at profit density, shop efficiency, customer flow; and recommend changes in product depth of distribution.
• Build relationships with suppliers over range merchandising and product positioning to ensure their planograms needs are synconised to QDF’s planogram needs.
• Analyse sales date and report back to the buying department with key insights and shopping trends to enable the team to make the right purchase for future requirements.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team by reporting the stock levels that go below the agreed percentage to ensure stock reach the shopfloor at the right time.
• Work together with the merchandising team to ensure the planograms are correctly distributed, understood and implemented by the team to ensure the right product is placed on the right shelf.
• Analyse data to ensure optimum range construction and ongoing improvement of the customer offer.
• Build internal relationships with operations and sales team to ensure smooth flow of product offer.
• Ensure new and refitted stores have correct planograms for opening by working with the marketing team to to ensure the correct point of sale requirements are met.
• Conduct sales analysis, trend reporting and micro and macro space analysis and make recommend changes to maxisise sales.
• Keep up to date on competitor ranges and display techniques, to ensure QDF is a leader in this field.
• Collaborate with the visual merchandising team to ensure 5 star visual merchandising in all our planograms.
• Take reasonable care for the health and safety of self and of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.

Qualifications

About you

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience required; OR
• High School Qualification or Diploma or equivalent with minimum 5 years relevant experience

Skills and experience:

• Experience in retail merchandising or space planning at a macro or micro level
• Experience in shopfloor retail or supply chain or finance
• Experience in an airport environment (preferred)
• Ablily to prioritise and adapt to suit the pace of the business and work under pressures working to deadlines
• Abilty to build strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders, and have excellent communication skills
• Highly numerate and proficient in reporting with attention to detail
• Ability to manipulate and report on high volumes of data
• Sound working knowledge of (Pivot Tables/V-Look Ups) and an ability to interpret detailed reports
• Understanding of retail operations
• Methodical approach with an eye for the detail, good planning, organisational skills, and the ability to work on your own or within the team
• Working knowledge of JDA/Spaceman/Relex or similar micro software
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar macro software
• Ability to own multiple layouts and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills with advanced use of data modelling and analytics tools
