Job Description

Job Purpose

To prepare detailed credit proposals and assist the marketing team in maintaining the account relationship, resolving related issues, if any.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Undertake spreading and in depth meaningful analysis of financial statements.
  • Discuss customers requirements, line structure and related terms and conditions with Relationship Manager / Account Manager.
  • Coordinate with Relationship Manager to ensure that all necessary information required for processing a credit proposal are obtained from the customer.
  • Preparation of all credit proposals with due focus on risk analysis and mitigants, in terms of financial business, operational management and environmental factors and duly supported by the financial highlights addressing key factors, in accordance with the Bank Policy.  Credit presentations to be prepared in precise and balanced manner and reflect high quality and standard.
  • Acquire thorough knowledge about the bank’s credit policies, products and services.
  • Establish cordial relationship with Credit Manager and provide clarifications on any queries raised.
  • Attending to customers calls as may be required.

The official will be responsible to manage entire operations for Doha, Qatar. The Assistant manager will oversee management of appx 14 Headcount daily. Provide guidance and training to the team by implementing skills matrix and training plans. Person will also be responsible for facilitating, managing and implementing changes/ improvements and embedding a robust control and MI collation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Scrutinize and manage timely processing of transactions.
  • Ensure all policies, rules and regulations, guidelines and practices are complied with before authorizing or releasing the payments.
  • Ensure compliance/AML regulatory requirements are adhered while checking/crediting the transactions.
  • Contact Branches//Relationship Managers//other Business Partners and seek clarification or obtain approval of transactions before processing.
  • Provide day to day consultation to Branches/Internal Customers / Branches/various Departments/Units in HO with respect to ops matters in accordance with Bank’s policy/OPM/SOPs/APPM/Compliance/Anti-Money Laundering and Local rules and regulations.
  • Suggest review/alignment in operating procedure wherever required to simplify workflows and to ensure that they are workable (practicable), standardized, cost effective and cover Bank risks adequately. Intervene and resolve customer queries/complaints of critical nature in order to maximise their satisfaction.
  • Capture statistics to determine root cause and fix the gaps in order to maximise productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Implementation of staff training plan to develop their skills and competence in order to perform assigned task accurately as well as efficiently and facilitate their career growth.
  • Involve in resolving system related issues to ensure no impact on day to day processes/activities.
  • Ensure checking of various daily reports/statements/statistics and corrective/preventive actions are taken.
  • Take initiative to achieve business objectives for self and help/support colleagues in achieving theirs.
  • Ensure exceptions are recorded and reported in a timely manner.
  • Support Centralization and other projects/initiatives.
  • Ensure checking of EJ/Online reports/other reports with voucher/source documents promptly after the transactions with due
  • diligence and covering all significant data i.e. authenticity and correctness/completeness of documents/vouchers.
  • Coordinate with officials across the Bank to ensure that the customer related data being captured in the system are accurate and
  • periodic reporting to Regulatory are error-free.
  • Coordinate with Doha officials for rectification of data/reporting(corrective and preventive actions).
  • Help and support on different time bound tasks/projects as and when mandated within the bank or outside the bank.
  • Facilitates with vendors, PMO/MIT for getting the data quality assignments and ensuring the target dates are adhered to.
  • Develop and review unit related system and procedures to keep the defined SOP related to the processes updated and suggest changes, raise URF for changes in system to make it more efficient to increase productivity.
  • Ensure control on all non-financial activities in consonance with all policies, procedures and delivery standards, ultimately
  • reflecting in satisfactory audit rating and high level of customer satisfactions.
  • Coordinate/facilitate in updating customer data in various systems as part of Central Bank Credit Bureau from time to time.

Senior Recovery Officer

Job Purpos
  • Primary function is to help maximize recoveries and minimize losses on Bank’s classified and non-classified SME portfolio that may have resulted from business failures of the borrowers or other reasons.
  • To achieve the monthly/yearly targets set forth by the senior management.
  • To manage the delinquent portfolio of classified (90+ DPD) and non-classified, directly or by assisting Manager – Collection.
  • Negotiate with defaulters solutions that are workable and acceptable to the Bank. It entails, inter alia, assessment of borrower’s operations, financial position, management strengths and cash-flows etc. in case of restructurings.
  • To assess legal options with the legal counsels, seeking approvals for special actions, and to follow on the progress of approved actions (credit / special actions and /or court cases etc).
Knowledge, Skills and Experienc
  • Assist in setting targets for approval and ensure that the targets are achieved to management’s entire satisfaction.
  • Working-out recovery strategies and remedial action plans, and obtaining approval of implementation.
  • Monitoring classified portfolio on an ongoing basis and initiate appropriate remedial measures, as warranted and advised by Manager Collection.
  • Participating along with (SME) RMs in negotiations with borrowers, including onsite visits to borrowers’ place of business to evaluate proposals for restructuring with special attention to cash flow capabilities and assessment of financial strength.
  • Forecast the provisioning requirements for the classified portfolio as well as the non classified portfolio.
  • Instituting legal actions against defaulters, monitor progress and propose next course of action. In consultation with Bank’s legal officers to evaluate effectiveness of external legal counsels.
  • Manage the external agencies for skip customers to help the agency track the customers and initiate collection action for recovery of the due.
  • To liaise with other external forces including law enforcement agencies to take legal recourse for recovery of dues.
  • Prepare and share MIS reports for timely notification to Senior Management
  • Reviewing portfolio for ongoing rationalization through write-offs.
  • Managing QCB reports (provision & write/off).
