Job Description

Job Purpose

  • Provide a broad range of specialised marine operational expertise to ensure chartered LNG Carriers are fully compatible with, and able to safely operate at, their nominated terminals. Assess all FOB nominated vessels for compatibility with, and safe operation at, Qatargas’ Ras Laffan berths. Protect the reputational and commercial interests of the Company, and coordinate with Ship Owners and Operators on vessel compatibility/acceptability related matters.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s) – I

  • Works within established, defined Policies and Procedures, International Marine Standards and recognized Industry Best Practices. Contributes to the development of internal Policy and Procedures.
  • The size of Q-max/Flex Ships and the new technologies adopted in modern LNG Carriers complicates the ship / shore compatibility assessments conducted by Marine Specialists.  The ability to foresee and manage potential problems to ALARP is demanding and requires significant technical skill and experienced judgement for timely, safe, cost effective resolution.
  • The ability to foresee and adapt ship / shore procedures to accommodate customer requirements, changes to International and National regulations and the requirements of industry bodies.

Key Job Accountabilities – I

  • Coordinate the Ship Shore Interface and compatibility work with Owners and Operators of chartered Large LNG Carriers, Project and JV Terminals and third party loading and receiving facilities.
  • Provide Marine operations interface to internal and external parties to ensure new marine facilities are managed and operated in accordance with Qatargas safety requirements.
  • Conduct the due diligence reviews and inspections of the Project & JV Terminals and third party loading/receiving facilities. Where needed, make recommendations to assure compliance with Qatargas and Industry requirements.
  • Coordinate with third party terminals and provide technical support through the process of the acceptance of Company large LNG Carriers by local authorities.
  • Provide specialised marine/technical input in respect of marine expansion related activities to ensure long term LNG Shipping business needs.
Key Job Accountabilities – II
  • Provide expert operational advice of a Marine and Technical nature with the aim to ensure that Company interests are protected and transportation of products is safe, efficient and reliable.
  • Ensure that Company expectations with respect to safe operational and management standards are met at Terminals. Provides expert operational marine advice in respect of the marine elements of agreements and terminal acceptance.
  • Provides Marine Operational and Technical support for the development and updating of Shipping related Operational Policies and Procedures, to ensure that they remain valid, current and reflect “Best Practices”.
  • Ensures expedient loading and discharging of Company chartered fleet, and ensure the safe operation of the chartered LNG fleet both in port and while at sea.

Qualifications

  • 1st Class Marine Certificate of Competency or an appropriate Bachelor’s degree as Master/Chief Engineer or equivalent.

Knowledge and/or Experience – I

  • 10 years’ marine experience in oil and/or gas transportation.

Job Description

Senior Production Engineer

  • Develop Upstream Integrated Gas Volume and Activities plan (UGP/IAP), review gas production, water injection plans and surveillance ensuring uninterrupted feed-gas delivery from wells and reservoirs to LNG trains. Support production enhancement, development studies, plans and projects to meet company targets in the most cost-effective manner.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

  • Examines and applies business judgement of asset and well production performance and diagnose problems from a complex set of reservoirs and wells through continuous communication and alignment with Operations and Commercial Planning department.
  • Occasionally required to travel Offshore and Ras Laffan for meetings, implement and roll out production guidelines, UGP Gas Volume & Activity plans to stay updated with stimulation operations.
  • Act as a technical focal point for well and asset production/injection performance, UGP planning process, Production development activities for the department.

Key Job Accountabilities – I

  • Coordinate Integrated Activity and Gas Volume Plans as per UGP process cycles and sequences and align with stakeholders all well test and injection programs in coordination with operations Department. Monitor rig based well testing, measurement and sampling.
  • Support Reservoir Engineers to develop production guidelines to optimize gas and condensate from Qatargas wells and review non-routine or unplanned events requiring the management of special parameters (H2S/Water/Condensate/Casing Pressure).
  • Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen production shortages and downtime and ensure production availability from offshore in advance to satisfy the LNG requirements and mitigate the short falls in short term basis.
  • Review the analysis of all production data and parameters at offshore and onshore facilities, and ensure the use of standards, in-house application tools as well as real time information management tools (POIS).
  • Develop Well Performance and System Network Performance models update and optimize performance as per the operating boundaries set by Qatargas standards and confirm accuracy of the measurement and metering electronics and transmitters.

Key Job Accountabilities – II

  • Analyse onshore wastewater injection wells for uninterrupted water injection and implement injection guidelines and quality requirements on a continual basis. Elevate any abnormal findings to Section Head.
  • Propose stimulation strategy for Qatargas wells and support implementation of the same and coordinate testing and cleanup of wells post stimulation and any change management actions. Review well testing reports for new wells and re-completions.
  • Assess stimulation effectiveness using rig based flow back or PLT data, recommend improvement and optimization. Analyse well performance of producing wells post stimulation and recommend remedial action such as re-stimulations to enhance productivity.
  • Review input and determine production performance for Well, Platform, Asset for development and re-development projects and complete WIS and WEP development for re-completions and development wells with stimulation and well clean up input.
  • Perform well production volume back allocation based on well test and reservoir engineering inputs and Production Logging (PL) interpretation. Contribute monthly and annual reconciliations at all fiscal meter levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.

Knowledge and/or Experience

  • 6 years’ experience in Production Operations, Production Planning, Optimization in the Oil and/or Gas industry, including at least 2 years’ experience in production technology, Petroleum engineering applications and tools for production optimization, stimulation, PLT and forecasting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of well modelling, well optimization techniques, reservoir depletion methods, well performance evaluation methodologies, production planning and allocation.
  • Familiar with drilling, reservoir management, fluid sampling and analysis, well work and production operations/facilities.
  • Familiar with Production facilities and development, testing and metering equipment, flow assurance, pipeline management, project planning and execution.

Project Admin & Doc. Controller

Job Purpose

  • Provide document control support during vessel construction to the project team in compliance with internal company policies and procedures as well as external client need.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s) – I

  • Provide document control, information management in support of the NFXP Shipping team while observing and applying strict levels of confidentiality, decorum and discretion to all matters related to performance and administration of Project documents in adherence with company Policies and procedures.

Key Job Accountabilities – I

  • Assists in the implementation and maintenance of the company’s electronic Project information Management System (PIMS) by reporting performance of the system and suggesting improved techniques for the control of documentation.
  • Controls the document flow between Shipowners/Shipyards and PMT using PIMS in accordance with project’s Information Management Plan and company’s policies and procedures.
  • Conduct quality check on documents, such as manuals, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify legibility, completeness and accuracy of data (metadata, discipline codes, revision codes. etc.).
  • Ensures the distribution of incoming documentation to PMT members according to an approved pre-defined Document distribution matrix (DDM).
  • Coordinates with PMT technical team and External parties to resolve discrepancies and ensure completeness of the documents.

Key Job Accountabilities – II

  • Consolidates comments/mark-ups from reviewers, prepare outgoing transmittals for approval and upload to Supplier Exchange in PIMS as a response to the External parties.
  • Generate weekly/monthly overdue reports on documentation and compare the document flow with the Master document register (MDR) and expedite overdue document reviews on a daily basis.
  • Ensures Company responses are returned within the contractual timeframes and manage both hardcopy and electronic filing of documents for easy retrieval upon request.
  • Provide training to the External Parties to upload documents/retrieve documents using Supplier Exchange (SE) in PIMS.
  • Assist in Final documentation transfer between PMT, Ship owners, Fleet Operations and other departments within QG.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Secondary School Education.

  • 6 years of relevant experience.
