Job Description

Scope

In view of the consolidation of the local project team for the implementation of the first Freeflow Tolling and Congestion Charging System in Qatar, we are looking for a Junior Roadside Engineer to join a team that is in responsible for defining, implementing, maintaining, supporting and contributing to designing and installing complex infrastructure and communication networks to support the deployment of the Roadside Tolling and Congestion Charging systems.

The Junior Roadside Engineer will work closely with the IT & Maintenance Manager, the Project Manager and the Project Team and ensure critical system availability is maintained, while client contract obligations are met or exceeded.

In this role, you should have backgrounds electricity and network systems, strong problem-solving capabilities and thorough knowledge of all types of Tolling Systems / Congestion charging / ITS.

Purpose

Interface with sub-contractors providing and implementing Tolling / Congestion Charging / ITS Infrastructure, devices and services
Become a Subject Matter Expert of Tolling / CG / ITS technologies
Attend and monitor installation, Fine tuning, commissioning and testing of equipment
Expert level knowledge troubleshooting complex business impacting situations including gathering and diagnosing information from all levels of the system
Monitor infrastructure and network performance and integrity
Maintain complete technical documentation.
Provide technical level 3 support to the business, via ticket management system
Manage the assets in the Asset management System

Requirements

Integration, commissioning and configuration of systems including both hardware and software
System architecture
Development and tests in the selected language
Understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, MPLS, OSPF)
Sharp troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and part of a team
Good listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing to both customers and key stakeholders
Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying scrutinizing, improving and streamlining process
Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritise
Results driven with a strong attention to detail
Knowledge/previous experience with Ashghal as a client
Driving licence
Ability to work out of hours at short notice if required to meet with the system operational constraints

Education/Qualifications

Expected BSC/BA in Electronic engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience
2+ years experience in a similar role and experience on roadside with the following:
Congestion charging systems
Free flow Tolling systems
ITS technologies including LPR, CCTV, detection systems, etc
Carrier solutions such as MPLS, IPsec VPN’s and other Ethernet technologies
Proficient in English and Arabic – Written and Spoken.
ITS Vendor training / accreditation – desired
CAD drawings – desired

Job Description

Main Functions/Responsibilities

Reporting to the VP Sales for North America, this role will assist the existing BD Teams in North America to continue to develop leads and grow the BD function as well as engaging with the Business Development global team. The Business Development global team is coordinated by the BD Director based in France and is composed of a Sales team in North America, a Sales team for EMEA LATAM based in France, a Sale team for Spain based in Spain, and Bid Managers based in France.

The role holder will take responsibility for managing the organization’s efforts to develop existing business relationships (including existing bid opportunities) as well as driving new business opportunities in the Road User Charging and Transportation industry both in North America and Globally as needed.

The role holder will be responsible for the full sales and business development lifecycle capture management from opportunity assessment through contract signature and internal handover, sometimes as Bid Manager, sometimes as support to the Bid Manager.

He / She will manage and lead the bid process and generate prospects/leads in the acquisition of new business for RUC and Transportation business. Working with the Business Development global team, the role holder will be responsible for leading all Business Development and Sales efforts to identify, structure and capture new business in the RUC and Transportation sectors and take responsibility in the development of ‘winning’ relationships with key stakeholders in the RUC and Transportation mobility sectors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent Emovis at transportation/mobility events and exhibitions to create brand awareness.
  • Seek out and recognise new business opportunities in the Transportation Mobility sector.
  • Manage the development of RUC and electronic toll collection sales and new business development.
  • Assist the Business Development global team as well as in North America to develop from concept and present new product/service initiatives to prospective clients.
  • Manage and deliver the planning, preparation, and presentations for client meetings.
  • When acting as Bid Manager, manage the bid process for potential new business opportunities across North America by winning new business by creating winning business proposals/quotations with the support of the Emovis central areas (IT; Operations; Finance; Legal; HR; etc).
  • When acting as support to Bid Manager, support the bid team (both nationally and globally) by managing and developing internal relationships, Sales and Business Development teams, operations teams (both nationally and globally) solution architects, legal advisors, program and contract managers and internal financial analysts.
  • Develop and nurture external stakeholder relationships with a view to the development of new business (Local State/Federal administrations, councils etc.).

Personal Specification:

The ideal candidate will have a combination of sales/business capture, business development (BD), project management, and proposal management experience to lead complex and high-priority business opportunities, both government and commercial across North America. Experience with the identification of resources needed to pursue new transportation/urban mobility business opportunities.

The candidate will have experienced client engagement at a senior level and show a track record of pricing, teaming, and proposal strategy. Show an entrepreneurial drive and excitement to make a direct contribution to the growth of our North American business, working across the multiple divisions.

  • Masters in Business Administration/ equivalent or a Juris Doctor(JD)
  • Must have at least 10+ years’ experience in business development and business capture management, ideally for Transportation or Utilities-related projects in the public Transport/Urban Mobility sector space.
  • Must have experience of developing and running a services or technology business from scratch and can provide evidence of driving a business through its life cycle (concept development, start up, financing, resourcing, business development, sales, customer engagement etc.)
  • Post Graduate degree required (MBA or Equivalent)
  • Strong association and active involvement (Committee or Board position) with the tolling industry’s trade association – the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA), in particular must have Committee Member experience (Chair or Senior Involvement) in IBTTA programs.
  • Must have previous experience running and managing a high-volume Contact Centre Business.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to drive efforts to completion (PMP preferred but not required)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including verbal and presentation skills to individuals and groups, internally and externally
  • Strong writing skills to include development of content incorporating key win themes in a clear and concise manner
  • Superior proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).

Job Description

Job Title: Roadside Support Engineer – Level 1

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Job Location: Doha, Qatar

The Roadside Support Engineer will be required to deliver 24/7 technical break fix and installation project support to the customer in line with the roadside tolling services provided within agreed SLA. This will require the investigation and rectification of all roadside equipment incidents and problems on the customer’s supported systems. The work pattern is between Sunday and Thursday 09:00 – 17:30, with 24/7 on call support rota required.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively monitor business critical services and applications, identifying improvements including corrective and preventative maintenance interventions
  • Provide technical and functional support to the business for all applications and raising/tracking bugs where necessary
  • Plan and undertake changes to software/hardware/infrastructure including 3rd party components e.g. ANPR cameras, detection and classification lasers
  • Prepare and produce system documentation in accordance with company and ISO9000 policies and procedures
  • Review implementation and deployment designs including circuit diagrams
  • Install and configure requisite bespoke applications and test accordingly
  • Maintain up to date awareness of developments in Roadside technologies and identify how appropriate ones can be applied to customer organisations
  • Maintain and order spares as per onsite and project requirement
  • Maintain and have access to RSE engineer toolkit at all times
  • Provide timely and accurate ticket updates and progress all incidents and problem tickets within preferred web helpdesk toolset
  • Complies with and follows workplace method statements
  • Complies with and follows workplace risk assessments e.g. electrical safety
  • Complies with all Health and Safety requirements on site and ensures any visitors to site are briefed accordingly

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the following technologies:
  1. Basic Active Directory, Scripting/PowerShell
  2. MS Office / Office 365
  3. Solar Winds or web helpdesk
  4. AVG Anti-Virus
  5. Windows Server 2012
  • Good analytical skills in system diagnosis background
  • Good knowledge of network configuration and diagnosis including VLANS

  • Experience in the tolling industry – desirable
  • Ability to develop technical documentation for the non-technical user – desirable
  • Must hold a full current clean driving license in Qatar
  • Ability to be on call as a second line
  • Able to work outside of normal working hours, on site, during agreed maintenance windows, specifically night time working.
  • Ability to work out of hours at short notice if required to meet with the system operational constraints
  • Authorised to work in Qatar on a permanent basis.
